Liverpools Forward Firmino Handed Fine and Long Ban

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino handed driving ban

Sources in the last hour are comfirming Liverpool forward Firmino has been handed a £20,000 fine and has been banned from driving for a year. After admitting drink driving at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.

The Liverpool player was charged with drink driving after being pulled over and breathalyzed on christmas eve last year .

Firmino said: "I apologise, without reservation, to the club, the manager, my team-mates and the supporters for putting myself in this situation. What I have done is wrong and sets a bad example.

"I promise to everyone in the LFC family that I will learn from this mistake, learn from this experience, and not repeat it in the future."

The club has comfirmed the player has been disciplined and reminded of his responsibilities as a professional football player

Branislav Ivanovic has joined Zenit St Petersburg,He joins on a 2 and a half year deal on a free transfer from Chelsea


Ivanovic joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008 under the management of Avram Grant and featured 376 times in total, scoring 34 goals.

The 32-year-old played 16 times this season following the appointment of Antonio Conte in the summer, scoring in what proved to be his last appearance for the club - a 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over Brentford last Saturday.

During his eight years with Chelsea, Ivanovic helped the club win two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League.
